Houlgate
FR : Présentation générale: Spot à 45 minutes du Havre par l’autoroute A29 et A13. Une immense plage de sable à marée basse, avec énormément de place pour naviguer dans les fameuses bassines, et encore pas mal de place à marée haute, mais avec un plan d’eau beaucoup moins sympa. Houlgate est vraiment un spot incroyable lorsqu’on peut naviguer au descendant, à la formation des baïnes. Il faut viser juste avec les marées pour les avoir. Ces cuvettes restent petites et elles sont rapidement surpeuplées. Il ne faut pas hésiter à s’écarter et aller se réfugier dans une autre, le spot est gigantesque et mérite d’être exploré pour naviguer au calme. Cabourg, plage voisine située rive gauche de l’estuaire de la Dives, est très similaire à Houlgate. C’est un peu l’extension du spot. La plage est un peu moins accueillante, et il n’y a pas de zone de baignade. Conditions de navigation: Comme beaucoup de plages voisines, Houlgate présente deux caractères distincts, à marée basse et à marée haute. A marée basse, l’eau peut reculer très très loin, des bassines vont se former, offrant de petites zones d’ultra flat, peu profondes, idéales pour apprendre des nouveaux tricks, ou pour les débutants. A marée haute, un plan d’eau clapoteux moins agréable et pas mal de courant. Cela dit, si le vent est fort de Sud-Ouest/Ouest, cela peut être top deux heures avant et après la pleine mer : des vagues se forment entre l’opposition de la rivière et de la mer. Les vagues peuvent alors être puissantes. Les orientations: Le spot marche par un vent orienté de Sud-Ouest / Ouest jusqu’à Nord-Est .Attention, par Est-Nord Est il est perturbé par la falaise des vaches noires, ne pas hésiter à pousser vers Franceville, où le vent sera mieux établi. Particularités, dangers éventuels: Pendant l’été, comme au Havre, une zone de baignade sera installée et délimitée par des bouées. Le gréage, le décollage et l’atterrissage pour es kite se feront exclusivement sur les zones identifiées. Cabourg, a neighbouring beach on the left bank of the Dives estuary, is very similar to Houlgate. It is a bit of an extension of the spot. The beach is a little less welcoming, and there is no swimming area. Sailing conditions: Like many nearby beaches, Houlgate has two distinct characters, at low tide and at high tide. At low tide, the water can recede a long way and pools will form, offering small, shallow areas of ultra flat water, ideal for learning new tricks or for beginners. At high tide, the water is less pleasant and there is a lot of current. That said, if the wind is strong from the southwest/west, it can be top notch two hours before and after high tide: waves form between the river and the sea. The waves can then be powerful. Direction: The spot works with a wind from South-West/West to North-East, be careful, by East-North-East it is disturbed by the cliff of the black cows, do not hesitate to push towards Franceville, where the wind will be better established. Particularities, possible dangers: During the summer, as in Le Havre, a bathing area will be installed and delimited by buoys.
